Creating Physical Text - with Caroline Alves
How can the word be used in a phonic level in order to create a “word embodied”? How can the same “movement-score” transform itself in many others? This class is a research focusing on the movement produced from the use of voice, text, and breathing. We will explore movement dynamics through dance and improvisation techniques as well.
Using physical tasks, limitations and scores developed by the participants during the class we will investigate methods to edit these physical-scores. We will experience different developments of the same physical-material.
The participants are encouraged to take risks by using their particular qualities and also their weak points in order to develop their own personal potential of creating and moving.
Caroline Alves is a Brazilian dancer, teacher and choreographer based in Berlin.
After working as a co-creator-dancer in the State Company of Minas Gerais: Companhia de Dança Palácio das Artes (Belo Horizonte – Brazil) for 7 years, she continued her work on the independent scene as a dancer and researcher.
In the last few years she has worked with different choreographers and performed around Brazil and Europe.
