I'm a writer, director & performer working in theater & film. A native New Yorker, I began working in theater when I was 14 years old. My early production credits include the world premiere of Tennessee Williams' last short plays & a 10-hour anti-war event that won an Obie Citation. More recently, I directed, produced, & acted in the seminal Asian-American play PAPER ANGELS, which won Best of the San Francisco Fringe. My documentary on the untold history of democracy in Taiwan was part of the Visions du Réel Media Library and accepted to the Sheffield DocFest Videotheque. Much of my work explores intersections and overlaps: past and present, East and West, wealth vs. poverty, inner perception and outer self, highbrow and lowbrow. In Berlin, I've been doing a lot of campy conceptual burlesque that explores dynamics of gender, power, freedom, and identity.
