Emanuela Ravidà aka RE is an italian visual artist.
She uses earth colors, lacquers, acids, with whom she splits and covers scratched texts and the surface of the painting becomes like a wall too lived in an lonely alley, a windswept corner of an abandoned house or a ruin. Large pictures, sometimes boards from recycled pieces of furniture, especially old windows frame emerging from an old energy, smoke, vertical structures, assemblies and wire details, never dull and always surprising with many different textures. RE's practice has evolved over time through several distinct series of work incorporating a variety of drawing and painting media. Her work is unified by an exploration of the paradoxical and is located in the spaces between what is immediately apparent and what is contradictory and obscured.
