DI2ª is an artistic occupation that began in June 2020 and shows every Monday the experience of artists from different fields and places, which gather to create from a distance and immerse themselves in an experience of language displaced from each artist's "common place", in addition to thinking the Internet itself as a creative and amplified possibility. Every Monday the occupation launches a new premiere with partnerships of different artists and on Friday a critical reflection is launched to think together and understand this 'other space' and the creation between partnerships in distance. The engagement of the artists and the public response to the works produced until now is showing such a great result that we intend to launch an open call on Art Connect so that we can get to connect more artists and maintain this weekly schedule until the end of the year.

Mirella Brandi and Muep Etmo are an artist duo that have been working together since 2006 and on isolation since March 2020. We have never been apart for so long. In order to continue creating and raising possibilities to find a way to connect artists who are in the same condition, we developed the idea of this occupation in partnership between us (Mirella Brandi x Muep Etmo) and Tuca Paoli, that understands the internet as a free and possible place to connect artists in isolation who can develop new works at a distance without any limitation of any kind of frontier. 

The idea is for the artistic occupation of this virtual space, and resumes its original ideals of freedom, connection, inventiveness and knowledge exchange, a process activated by a network of artists, each interacting with their research of expressions, languages, countries, thoughts and proposals, gathered by the desire to test other possible artistic manifestations, because for art the internet can be a real space of bonding and creating without borders.

This occupation is aimed at visual artists, performers, dancers, actors, music producers, photographers, musicians, video artists, scenographers, lighting designers, producers and art critics to rethink collaborative creation in a more horizontal and interdependent way, that seeks comprehending the internet medium as the “ground zero” of these other artistic possibilities.

BIO

MIRELLA BRANDI is a light artist, she researches light as an autonomous language in narrative conduction interacting with several performing and visual arts like dance, music, opera, theater, installations, and urban interventions among others.
MUEP ETMO is a multimedia artist, musician and sound engineer graduated from SAE (Institute Audio Engineer) and resident musician of CVA (Conservatorium Van Amsterdam). His research pursue the composition of sound in its radical form and transformation. Through the essence of light and sound, Mirella Brandi x Muepetmo explore new narrative capabilities and the boundaries of our perception over immersive performances and/or installative environments.
Headquartered between São Paulo and Berlin the duo uses the principles of performative art, expanded cinema, and immersive installations as semantic elements to produce immersive narratives. Light and sound as autonomous languages used in a way to create ethereal filmic environments that are able to defy our perception, produce insights and move out our perspective about what we understand as reality.

TUCA PAOLI lives in Berlin working as an international arts correspondent in London.Many TV reports about the British art scene, Film festivals, music festivals, and exhibitions. TV Cultura.
