Elissa de Brito is an artistic producer and audiovisual director. Her work reflects upon culture, human relationships and beliefs through video-installations, documentaries, video projections and video performances.
Elissa has a bachelor degree in Audiovisual Production, from UNISINOS (BR). To create her interdisciplinary works she sources from more than 20 years of experience in Classical Ballet, music and theater, blending the languages of body and film. For two years, she partnered with the Berlin based dance company Chaim Gebber - Open Scene, where she produced and managed projects, created video media, and performed. In Brazil, she worked until 2014 as Assistant Director and Producer, including two Feature Films and an internationally awarded film for t.v. She also worked as editor in short-films. In 2013, she lived in Argentina, where she attended classes at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) as guest-student and at the Argentinian Union of the Film Industry (Centro de Formación Profesional – Sindicato de la Industria Cinematográfica Argentina - CFP, SICA).
Elissa is founder and director of Artistic Productions: Calliandra, and co-founder and member of Zeegotoh e.V. as artistic producer and curator. Currently, she is also enrolled at the Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin) in the Masters in Film Studies program where she continues to refine her audiovisual methods and aesthetics.
