Berlin Film Society

Berlin Film Society is an independent non-profit organisation (founded in 2012) which prides itself on showcasing independent and auteur cinema in Berlin, as well as championing new, innovative filmmaking talent, such as Joshua Oppenheimer (The Act of Killing), Roger Ross Williams (God Loves Uganda), Sean Baker (Tangerine) and Erika Lust (XConfessions). One of our central aims is to establish a multicultural dialogue among members of diverse cultures in Berlin.

In a relatively short space of time, we have worked hard to build a strong reputation for presenting engaging and insightful films which often escape mainstream German cinema distribution.

We organise special advanced previews and exclusive premieres of anticipated films before other cinemas or organisations in Germany.
