ideas 4 wood 2024 design contest

TABU Spa, located in Cantù, is accepting entries to the sixth Ideas 4 Wood 2023/2024 international ideas design contest, for university students and designers regardless of age.

Ideas 4 Wood is aimed at the design of geometric, organic or combined decorations according to multilaminar wood veneers, industrial inlays, three-dimensional surfaces, surfaces for state-of-the-art boiserie or wooden floors. A total of 15,000 Euro will be awarded to the best entries across all competition categories!

For both categories, it is allowed to participate as individual or in a group. In the case of group participation, it will be necessary to appoint a group leader, who will be the sole responsible and contact person for the project. Each participant of the group will be asked to fill in the Annex A with personal data, signature of explicit acceptance of the Announcement, indication of the members of the group and name of the group leader. If a group includes both students and professionals, the group will fall into the Professionals Category. Each participant, as individual as well as group, is permitted to submit up to a maximum of 2 projects.

Tips:

– When devising an inlay, even starting from simple shapes (e.g., those born from imitating nature such as waves, stones, etc.) or elementary geometric shapes, it is advisable to creatively INTERPRET them into textures.

– If in doubt, you can ask for a FEASIBILITY OPINION regarding the idea you wish to submit (multi-laminate wood, inlay, 3D surfaces, wood wallpaper, flooring, furniture)
