A colorfully decorated bier is a stand on which a coffin is decorated with paper flowers. People shoulder this bier and go around the village where the deceased used to live while singing songs. Like in a festival, this shows a traditional way of mourning over one's death.
Nowadays, this funeral culture has vastly faded away, but this bier is usually made for the ones who lived a long life with good health. In Korea, we use a phrase "passed away" when somebody dies and this bier of flowers celebrates one's wonderful journey of life and on his/her return to 'home'
