"The Socially Distant Artist Residency program was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated social distancing practices put in place in early 2020. As the COVID-19 pandemic develops, we are facing substantial effects on our social lives. As social gatherings and events have been cancelled, and public spaces have been closed, we may find ourselves in solitude more than ever. 

The Socially Distant Artist Residency started in March 2020 and will continue until W.H.O declares the coronavirus pandemic over. While the world works to resolve the COVID-19 outbreak, our Artists in Residence are dedicating their time in isolation or quarantine to making work about loneliness, solitude and social (dis)connection. "
