It is often said that man is comprised of body, mind and soul. However, it is not often that our relationships with each component is of equal intensity or intimacy. Our current capitalistic and hedonistic society puts emphasis on perception through body, to the omission of soul.  Religious and philosophical thought are no longer commonplace with the explosion of available information, stimulation and communication technologies that has tethered us to the material world. We seek not to stay more connected, but rather, struggle to disengage. We long for seclusion, to isolate ourselves from over-connection.  

'Isolation' is a sculpture which dampens the stimuli which relentlessly notifies our body and mind of its cultural and social bearings. The white-noise created by rain falling on the tin roof anesthetizes the mind from over-stimulation, becoming an intimate womb for memory, reflection and projection.
