Hey sound artists/experimental musicians!
My name is Sarah Umles, and I'm a visual artist based in LA. I recently produced three images (found photographs which I'm calling "accidental drawings), and I'm hoping to work with a few collaborators who are interested in interpreting them as graphic scores. My plan is to install the graphic scores and play your sonic interpretation across three wall-mounted SYMFONISK Picture Frame speakers at The Residency Project, an artist residency & project space in Los Angeles (www.theresidencyproject.org). The timeline for the exhibition is flexible, but this November would be ideal. Hopefully, the work will get picked up for other exhibition opportunities as well. (If you know of any opportunities, we could definitely discuss that!)
I plan to fully cover the cost of the three SYMFONISK speakers and will take full responsibility for installing them at The Residency Project. I will also provide my collaborator(s) with professional video documentation of the installation. Any other costs associated with the production of the sound/music elements would be your responsibility.
