An Exhibition by "Ether Settle"
Hosted by Hošek Contemporary
Curated by Aora Helmzadeh, Hoda Taheri, Boris Hadzija
Sunday 13 September 2020, 12:00 - 20:30
A bridge between the far east, the middle east, and the west. Past and contemporary.
Join us on a journey from Hormoz Island — Iran’s Hippie Island — along the Ganges through ancient Persia during the 15th and 16th centuries, to the present moment on a Boat in the heart of Berlin.
We are living in a time in which the fundamental insecurity of life comes as a slap of truth across our faces.
This slap, COVID 19, reminds us how unclear and unknowable the future is, and that life is inherently unstable.
Our life is a seduction, the dance of Ether and Settle.
Ether - like Etheric waves of a dream, a single breath, or the moment of orgasm.
Settle - we attempt to keep fixing and stabilizing all aspects of our lives, we make families, buy insurance, chase careers.
We are coming together to celebrate the shadowy moments of Ether and Settle. Moments in which the soul and body meet each other.
