On the weekend of September 19 and 20, 2020, the Gerichtshöfe Wedding again invite you to visit the courtyards. On Saturday from 4 p.m. to midnight and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. 34 studios and workshops will be open to the public and selected 16 guest artists will present their works on the guest floor. There are current works to be discovered from the most diverse artistic fields such as painting, drawing, illustration, collage, woodcut, papercut, glass, photography, printmaking, installation, objects, sculpture, jewelry design and ceramics. There will also be an open air performance, a studio concert, a family photo action and a special exhibition. Admission is free.
An information stand with information on the participating artists and maps of the studios is located in the middle courtyard in front of Aufgang 2. In addition to sheltered seating, CharlottenBurger and American Ice Cream will also offer a small assortment of food and beverages for refreshment. If you wander attentively through the studios, you can win real art again in the popular Art Quiz!
On Saturday at 8 p.m. Christine Manderla will show a performance in the 3rd courtyard entitled "Women - facts & fakes", based on the idea that "fake news" has influenced cultural norms over time and thus the role assigned to women and still does. This will be followed at 8:30 pm by a "Campfire Soul" mini-concert with Berlin singer-songwriter Celina Bostic in the studio of photographer Jan von Holleben. The one-woman band with guitar and loop station humorously and honestly sings about topics like racism, motherhood and polygamy. On Sunday, Jan von Holleben will be photographing flying or other impossible family portraits on the floor of his photo studio (a digital picture at a price of 15 euros) under the motto "FLYING FLYING FLYING" from 3 to 5 pm with a lot of fun and creativity. On both days, an exhibition sponsored by the Quartiersmanagement Pankstraße will be on display on the guest floor with works from the public courses "Jede/r kann malen" (Director: Andrea Wallgren) and "Emaille" (Director: Eva Sörensen).
Visitors are requested to wear mouth and nose protection and to keep a safe distance. The guest floor is designed as a tour and can only be entered via the A4 staircase. The free commented studio routes must be void in this year unfortunately.
