Early spring training – Intensity and Error, Butoh*** workshop with Michiyasu Furutani accompanied by live music/Adam Goodwin& contrabass.
You can join any day of the workshop!
The "error" doesn't exist on the stage... and if exists, intensity - is something that is missing in the error, or it can't even be an error when it holds intensity.
How Error exists on the stage? What is Intensity on the stage?
We shall take not the paved road, but go into the dense forest next to the road, in our research of intensity and its individuality.
The workshop is based on a concrete work with the body (Butoh techniques) and all its qualities in connection to gravitation, velocity, power, balance and your individuality.
Live music moves us to a primordial mode of expression. Thus the individuality of the performer and the spontaneity of each unique moment to be achieved.
***Butoh is an expressive avant-garde dance/performance art created in the 1950-1960s in Japan. Known for its unconventional nature Butoh addresses to the entire body.
Open to all levels. No Butoh experience required. Just curiousity and error.

Michiyasu Furutani /JP/
“I’m a dancer. But before that I am an observer, also of myself”.
Having finished studies in Fine Arts of Drama, Michiyasu Furutani started his way in Butoh in 1995. His main teacher was Kaita Masaru, a second generation Butoh dancer, who after leaving Dairakudakan has created his own company “Zokutyou no tabi”. Furutani was a member of butoh groups Daizuko Farm, SAL VANILLA and YAN-SHU. Later he started his solo career as a Butoh dancer and participated in numerous projects with various stage directors, film-makers, artists and musicians. Recently he moved to Berlin, and develops himself experimenting in Butoh, modern, contact, classic and improvisation techniques to find a new expression way. www.sieteydos.tumblr.com
Adam Goodwin /USA/
A Texan double bassist, composer, and visual artist. He engages in a wide spectrum of artistic activity that involves frequent collaboration with various performers, composers, sound artists, choreographers, dancers, and visual artists.
Having completed music degrees in both classical and contemporary double bass performance, Goodwin moved to Berlin to delve fully into the world of experimental and improvised music. This has lead to a number of ongoing collaborations, including Elmer Kussiac, the Berlin Soundpainting Orchestra, and the Vasana String Trio, which exclusively performs Goodwin’s original compositions. In addition to classical, contemporary, and experimental music, he is active within the Turkish and Arabic music scenes in Berlin. soundcloud.com/hortus-mortuus
