Live stream tonight at 6 PM CEST | Earth is no longer habitable; people live in protective capsules, and can only escape by immersing themselves in virtual worlds. When the art collective Keiken created their work "Feel My Metaverse" they had no idea how relevant it would be for the world situation in 2020. In collaboration with Frankfurter Kunstverein, we will stream a live conversation between ARTCONNECT and Keiken this Wednesday at 6 PM (CEST) on Instagram, to discuss the collective's work and the current exhibition at Frankfurter Kunstverein.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
"Feel My Metaverse" is currently part of the exhibition "How to Make a Paradise" at Frankfurter Kunstverein. For the exhibition, nine artists and collectives have been invited to present a broad spectrum of artistic projects dealing with the human desire for digital escapism, and the aspiration to expand human capabilities with technology. Curated by Mattis Kuhn with the support of Franziska Nori, the exhibition includes multimedia installations, digital films and VR-experiences.
Keiken, Japanese for experience, is a cross-dimensional collaborative practice based in London and Berlin and founded in 2015 by artists Tanya Cruz, Hana Omori and Isabel Ramos; they frequently work with many other collaborators, as well. Through moving-image, new media installation, virtual/augmented reality and gamified performance they test-drive impending futures in the realms of the physical and digital - phygital.
The Frankfurter Kunstverein is an interdisciplinary exhibition house for contemporary art and culture in Frankfurt am Main. Exhibiting young and up-and-coming artists, it has become a site for encounter and engagement with the themes of our time. It is the key platform for contemporary art exhibitions, site-specific projects, performances, artist talks, and expert panels.
