
“Everything you see is an apparition of the unseen. The forms are impermanent, yet the essence is changeless. Every sight will return to the unseen. Every utterance will end in the original silence. Do not cling to the mirages; the source they come from is eternal, expanding, spreading, bearing endless lives and endless joy…” – Rumi This is a video of an installation that I created for Governor's Island Art Fair in August 2014, "Wholeness and the Implicate Order." The concept came from a theory from Physicist David Bohm that says everything is connected/one and that every particle holds the information of every other particle that it has ever come in contact with. In addition it postulates that consciousness is the fabric that connects and directs all things. The central video within the installation is that of a Whirling Dervish. Whirling Dervish's spin to release the ego, the identification with the self as separate from its surroundings and the other to reunite with the wholeness, the one consciousness that is the fabric and essence of all.
