Helena Kauppila

Helena Kauppila is a Berlin based artist with a focus on process. Her work is influenced on the one hand by intellectual pursuits such as mathematics and neuroscience, and on the other by mind-body awareness studies and activities: meditation, yoga, authentic movement, and, recently, Aikido. Kauppila holds a Ph.D. in probability theory from Columbia University, and is the recipient of the 2010–2011 Reginald Marsh and Meyers Marsh Scholarship at the Art Students League of New York. Her work was featured in a Science Friday video interview released January 8, 2015, and a fall 2015 article in Columbia Magazine.
