My collage practice has expanded significantly during quarantine, resulting in a large amount of work, both simple (like the piece attached) and complex.  As restrictions are lifted here in Berlin, I have had more time outside the house and interacting with others, which has led me to reexamine my work. I have become a bit uncomfortable with using bodies in collage, as collage can be interpreted as a physical act of violence. I have chosen this work to publish because, while it is complicit in the violence I described, it engages with this violence in its themes more so than my other work. I hope to do more research on how I can use my skills in collage in a way that makes me more comfortable in the future. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.
