With the aim of inspiring greater social consciousness, artist Jess de Wahls's forthcoming group exhibition #STOPJECTIFY will feature work by an international cast of artists, highlighting the damaging effects of objectification; imagining and creating change.
To create a powerful and inspiring message for spectators and artists alike, de Wahls invites artists from all backgrounds to participate in STOPJECTIFY.
The aim of the curator is to :
define objectification as one of the worlds root problems
address gender inequalities and social taboos with regards to objectification
explore the difference between consensual role-play and everyday misogyny and objectification
imagine an alternative, more compassionate reality where people are more conscious of their behaviors towards others
Artists submissions are welcome until the 10th of January.
The exhibition will run for 6 days, with the private view on 8th of march 2016, World woman's Day.
please fill in the submission form on http://bigswingingovaries.com/stopjectify/
Submissions are free, however, #STOPJECTIFY is currently running a crowd-funding campaign to keep it that way. Please take a look , take part and share the video!
