The ZKU sees itself as a laboratory for inter- and trans-disciplinary, activities centered on the phenomenon of “the city”.
ZKU promotes international exchange on global issues, in the light of what is happening in one’s own backyard. Working with local and international partners, ZKU residencies brings together critical minds at the cutting-edge of artistic production and urban research.
Contemporary artistic positions, ranging from contextual and interventionist to conceptual and street art, address selected themes.
Work at ZKU is informed by theoretical and practice-based critiques developed in the disciplines of geography, anthropology, urban planning, architecture and the humanities.
ZKU is offering internships. The ZKU has just opened its doors, so this is the opportunity to get engaged in a wide range of activities right from the start. The interns will engage in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of an international not-for-profit organization and will gain experience while being introduced to a vast network of artists, scholars and practitioners. Due to ZKU's small staff, interns play an important role in the administration of ZKU’s overall program.
ZKU internships potentially provide a foundation in a variety of skills, experience and contacts for a future career as a curator, artist, arts administrator, etc.
Requirements: Interns shall be included in an undergrad program or graduated students preferably framed by a granted program (Leonardo, Gundvig, etc.), as we're unfortunately unable to remunerate our interns at the moment. Interest in contemporary art, excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer proficiency, experience with database systems and strong organizational skills.
Three days a week for a minimum of four months is required and availability for occasional evening programming.
