OPEN CALL FOR SOLOSITS AND ENSEMBLES OF BAROQUE MUSIC
The International Johann Heinrich Schmelzer Competition for historically informed performance practice is held every three years as part of the “Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk”. In a variety of ways the festival provides a stage to young artists and gives room for exceptional talent and performances. The competition offers the opportunity to perform in front of a high-quality jury, all experts in the field of Early Music.
The competition is open to vocal and instrumental soloists as well as vocal and instrumental ensembles of any nationality born on or after 1 June 1982 (for ensembles this applies too all musicians within the ensemble).
Awards and Prizes:
Johann Heinrich Schmelzer Award:
• € 5.000,-
• concert recital at the “Internationalen Barocktagen Stift Melk”
Bursary by the Circle and Club of private Donators:
Assessment by jury and audience
• € 1.000,-

Applications must include
• completed application form
• letter of motivation
• three audio recordings with an overall duration of 15 – 20 minutes including exact details about composer, name and duration of each piece
• curriculum vitae
• recent photo in printable resolution (300 dpi)
• copy of passport or ID card
• proof of payment of the registration fee
Once the online-application has been received, a link for the upload of all other materials will be provided within short notice.
Full applications (including the upload of the recital pieces) must be received by the event organizer by the closing date of 15 March 2017 at email@example.com. Only complete applications will be considered for the initial short-listing.
