Raumwelten 2014 – taking place October 23 to 25, 2014 in Ludwigsburg and Stuttgart (Germany) – illuminates the intersections of scenography, architecture, and media. The event deals with production and reception of public and private, cultural and commercial spaces. How do spaces influence the “user” and stimulate encounters between people? Which messages, narrations, and emotions evoke spaces? Visionary architecture meets brand communications; exhibit and convention design meets the art of scenography.
Well-known national and international speakers are expected to come (selection): Werner Aisslinger (Studio Aisslinger, Berlin/Singapore), Matthias Bauer (Matthias Bauer Associates, Stuttgart), Ruedi Baur (Intégral Ruedi Baur, Paris), Ilja Knezovic (visuarte, Munich), Herman Kossmann (Kossmann.Dejong exhibition architects, Amsterdam), Marc Mertens (A Hundred Years, Los Angeles), Petra Blaisse (InsideOutside, Amsterdam), Leigh Sachwitz (flora&faunavisions, Berlin), Friedrich Ludewig (ACME, London) and Ingo Zirngibl (Jangled Nerves, Stuttgart). Milla & Partner (Stuttgart) and Schmidhuber (Munich) are going to present the German Pavillon Expo Milan 2015.
Following the successful execution of Raumwelten in 2012 and 2013 as well as International Scenography Biennial 2013, the event‘s content will be significantly expanded in 2014. A team of curators, including Dr. Petra Kiedaisch and Roman Passarge, Jean-Louis Vidière and Prof. Tobias Wallisser, will present a diverse programme of outstanding projects, internationally renowned individuals and innovative ideas. Raumwelten is composed of the four event modules Business, Art & Research, Talent, and Public, and thus brings together creative talent, clients, companies, students, and arts-oriented members of the public, and offers them an opportunity to discuss and experience communication in space.
Raumwelten Talent focuses on the promotion of new talent, with presentations of outstanding student work from various universities. This module will be realised in co-operation with the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, Akademie für Darstellende Kunst Baden-Württemberg (Academy for Performing Arts), Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart (Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design) and Hochschule für Technik, Stuttgart (School of Technology). In cooperation with ADC students can get in touch and presents their portfolio to potential employers.
