The P.O.R.C.H. Synthesis Module is one of the three modules of P.O.R.C.H., a facilitated training and research program, taking place at Ponderosa, Stolzenhagen, outside Berlin, in the summer of 2019.
The P.O.R.C.H. Synthesis Module gathers knowledgeable practitioners and choreographers to offer their perspective on movement and on the role that performance and choreography plays in the here and now.
This module is a focused place for research, both for art-making and for communal living. There is space given to widen, soften, refine one’s dance; there is room for partying; there is room for making good use of one another as witnesses, audience, playmates; there is space in the studio, in the garden, in the forest, in the water...
The module is facilitated by Stephanie Maher, Peter Pleyer, Maria F. Scaroni, and Yoav Admoni, who will establish group awareness and feedback tools, and decipher performance materials and their necessity. It will include the participation of many other teachers, facilitators, and visiting artists.
The P.O.R.C.H. group process aims to discuss results and experiences we have had as viewers and makers. Can we understand what we have presented? Who is invited into the experience? Is it selective, exclusively private or voyeuristic? Whether it is an improvised event, a highly structured composition or a spontaneous explosion, we are available to support one another's performative and choreographic experiments.
The P.O.R.C.H. Synthesis Module provides access to performative commitment, constructive feedback, artistic exchange, all in the stunning natural beauty of the Brandenburg countryside.
