Minute/Year (2016) is an exhibition of outcomes from the first year of Minute/Year, a multi-year sound installation. This installation generates compelling sounds and images, for one minute every day, in an accumulating, automated process.
Minute/Year (2016), the exhibition, will present outcomes derived from this sound installation over the course of 2016.
The exhibition will encompass a series of five large-scale screenprints – created from spectrogram images of the audio generated by the sound installation – and it will also present a six-hour-long durational video, and an artist’s book written over the course of the year, which includes notes and images from every day of 2016.
We’re happy to invite you to see and hear outcomes from the entire turbulent year of 2016, through this exhibition, from Thursday, January 19th, to Wednesday, January 25th, 2017, at Lite-Haus Galerie in Neukölln.
Red Monky will play live at the Vernissage! The live set will be at 19:30, and will use sounds recorded throughout the year by the Minute/Year installation as source material.
Vernissage: Thu., 19. January, 19:00h
Artist's talk: Sun, 22. January, 16:00h
